Early life

Neff was born on September 14, 1989.[5] Through the birthplace of one of his grandfathers, he is of German descent.[6]

Neff attended Elon University in Elon, North Carolina, graduating with a master's degree in game and interactive media design. He interned at Second City in Chicago in 2008 and Laugh Factory in Los Angeles in 2012 while pursuing the degree.[1][7] Previously, he had studied at the Groundlings, an improv and theater club.[7] He had also previously worked as a narrative-focused video producer at BuzzFeed, an American internet media and news company.[1]

Career

Streaming

Neff created his Twitch account in April 2016 and started streaming in August 2018, playing League of Legends.[8] Neff created his YouTube channel on May 10, 2020, and uploaded his first video on the channel that same day. His content on YouTube regularly consists of highlights from his Twitch livestreams.[9]

Neff started receiving popularity online in 2020 and credits the COVID-19 lockdowns as the reason his streaming career took off.[1] He is well known for his collaborative stream with fellow Twitch streamer Hasan Piker and AustinShow.[10]

On May 5, 2021, Neff was banned from Twitch after he watched a clip of Samurai Jack on the official YouTube channel of Adult Swim.[11] He was then unbanned two days later.[12] On November 2, 2021, Neff joined 100 Thieves, an American gaming organization based in Los Angeles, as part of their roster of content creators.[13] He left the organization shortly after the announcement of his signing to One True King in 2024.[14]

On April 27, 2023, Neff appeared on Esfand's Draft Day Extravaganza, a football event to coincide with the first day of the NFL draft.[15] He would return the following year for coverage of the 2024 NFL draft.[16]

On February 5, 2024, One True King, an American media organization based in Austin, Texas, announced that Neff would be joining the organization as a content creator.[14][17][18] Neff would also be appearing in and hosting several shows created with the organization, including the OTK Film Festival in March 2024.[14][17]

Attack of the Show!

Neff was one of the hosts of the G4TV program Attack of the Show!, an American television program focused on pop culture, video games, and movies, after it was relaunced in November 2021. Neff said that being a fan of G4 growing up was one of the reasons he joined as one of the program hosts.[1][7] The show was discontinued a year later, after Comcast announced the disbandment of G4TV due to financial problems.[19]

Name Your Price

On February 10, 2022, Neff joined fellow Twitch streamer AustinShow as one of the co-hosts of Name Your Price, a 1970s-themed game show inspired by The Price Is Right, hosted on AustinShow's Twitch channel. The show ran for two seasons before ending due to G4's shutdown in October 2022.[20] In March 2023, AustinShow announced that the show was revived after his signing to Misfits Gaming.[21]

On October 9, 2023, Name Your Price returned for a third season. This season is the first to use a touring format, with episodes set to be filmed in front of live audiences in Miami, Las Vegas (TwitchCon), Houston, and Long Beach. Each episode features AustinShow as a co-host alongside Neff, as well as other large streamers as contestants, product presenters, and guests.[22]

On February 17, 2024, Neff, along with co-host AustinShow were awarded the "Best Streamed Series" award for Name Your Price at The Streamer Awards.[23]

Hey, Donna!

On August 8, 2022, Neff announced a new G4TV comedy series called Hey, Donna! with co-host and fellow Twitch streamer QTCinderella. The call-in advice show is a hybrid scripted/unscripted series, combing both improvised advice and banter with occasional scripted bits in-between.[24] The show was discontinued on October 16, 2022, after Comcast announced the disbandment of G4TV.[25] On February 5, 2024, Neff announced that the show would be revived through his new organization, One True King.[14]

Other ventures

Since 2021, Neff has hosted the podcast Fear& (formerly Fear&Malding) alongside his friend and fellow Twitch streamer, Hasan Piker. Later in 2022, streamers QTCinderella and AustinShow joined the podcast as co-hosts.[26][27][28]

Acting

Neff appeared in the music video for eaJ's "Car Crash" with fellow 100 Thieves members Kyedae and Valkyrae.[29][30] He is set to appear in the 2024 comedy-romance movie Peak Season, written and directed by Henry Loevner and Steven Kanter.[31][32]
