Wise Resident Life[5] (Korean: 언젠가는 슬기로울 전공의생활) is an upcoming South Korean television series starring Go Youn-jung, Shin Si-a, Han Ye-ji, Kang You-seok, and Jung Joon-won. It is a spin-off of the 2020–2021 series Hospital Playlist, and depicts the life and friendship of university hospital professors and doctors. It is scheduled for release on tvN in the first half of 2025.[6][7] It will also be available for streaming on Netflix in selected regions.[1]

Synopsis
Set at the Jongno branch of Yulje Medical Center, the series follows the hospital lives and turbulent friendships of young obstetrics and gynaecology residents who proudly enter the unpopular department in an era of low birth rates.[7][8]

Production
Development
Director Shin Won-ho and writer Lee Woo-jung, who produced the Reply series and Hospital Playlist, will participate as creators of Wise Resident Life. It is directed by Lee Min-soo and written by Kim Song-hee, an assistant writer of Reply 1988 and Hospital Playlist.[3]
Casting
It was reported that pre-production started in May 2023. Shin Won-ho contacted several actors and conducted auditions.[19]
On September 20, 2023, it was announced that actress Go Youn-jung was cast in the series.[20] Complete line-up of the lead stars consisting of Go Youn-jung, Shin Si-a, Han Ye-ji, Kang You-seok, and Jung Joon-won was confirmed on September 28. Han Ye-ji is a rookie actress who will debut through Wise Resident Life.[7]
Filming
In July 2023, it was reported that filming was scheduled to start in October 2023, with an aim for release on tvN in March 2024.[21]
