Le hertz es le unitate de frequentia del Systema International de Unitates. Provine del nomine del physico germano Heinrich Rudolf Hertz, discoperitor del transmission del undas electromagnetica. Su symbolo es Hz (scripte sin puncto como tote symbolo). In angles se appella hertz (e se pronuncia /hérts/).

Un hertz representa un cyclo per cate secundo, intendimente cyclo como le repetition de un evento. In physica, le hertz se applica al mensurate del quantitate de vices per secundo que se repite una unda (jam sia sonora o electromagnetica), magnitute denominate frequentia $(f)\$ e que es, in iste exemplo, le inversa del longitud de unda $(\lambda )\$ :
