In 1972, the municipality wis renamed Vantaa/Vanda an promotit tae a mercat toun (i.e. Vantaan kauppala/Vanda köping), an in 1974, feenally renamed Vantaan kaupunki/Vanda stad "Ceety o Vantaa".
