Iris Chang
Chinese-American journalist and author of historical books (1968–2004)
Iris Shun-Ru Chang (March 28, 1968 – November 9, 2004) was an American writer and journalist. She wrote several best-selling books. Her books included Thread of the Silkworm, The Rape of Nanking and The Chinese of America. She was born in Princeton, New Jersey. She was raised in Illinois.
Chang spent her last years living in San Jose, California. On November 9, 2004, Chang died by suicide.
