Germaniya Gran-prisida Alfa Romeo jamoasi yana toʻrtta mashinani maydonga tushirdi, mahalliy haydovchi Paul Pietsch Consalvo Sanesi oʻrniga qatnashdi. Qolgan uch ishtirokchi Fangio, Farina va Bonettolar edi. Silverstoundagi ilk gʻalabasidan soʻng Ferrari ham toʻrtta poygachi bilan ishtirok etdi. Ular Piero Taruffi, Ackari, Villoresi va Britaniya Gran-prisi gʻolibi José Froilán Gonzálezlar edi. Ferrari avvalgi musobaqadagi kabi yaxshi formasini davom ettirdi, Ascari va José Froilán González saralashning eng tezkor ikki poygachisi boʻldi. Fangio va Farina oldingi qatorni, Villoresi, Taruffi va Pietsch ikkinchi qatorni egallashdi.

Dastlab Nino Farina oldinga chiqdi, biroq birinchi davra oxirida Fangio, Ascari va Froilán González undan oʻtib ketdi. Paul Pietsch beshinchi boʻlib harakat qildi.
