Untitled

Alceu Valenca is an accomplished Brazilian composer, actor, poet, writer and performer. Please do a search on the web. The artist has released several albums of which all have gone at least gold and several have gone platinum. Meanax 13:57, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Also, there is a probem with the spelling of his name which is causing web searches to return limited hits. The "c" on Valenca is actually one of those special Portugese characters that sound like a "SS", but I don't know how to type such a character using an English keyboard. I've seen people do it, but I don't know how. Any sugestions? Anyway. The artist is signed by a major label and has sold several million albums. Check out the new link I put on Tickemaster. I took the templates out after adding links to MTV, Best Buy, Tower Records and IMdb. Meanax 14:24, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Not much here

For 'one of the most accomplished' composers ever, there isn't much being written about him in this article. The list of external links is longer than the article itself... Valrith 20:23, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Please Read Below. I Need Your Help.

I understand it sir. If you could help me with the simbol to his name the hits on the web will show. The "c" in Valenca is actually a symbol often used in Portguese and I cannot seem to find it in a standard English keyboard. Once we can spell it correctly with that symbol you will see that his notability is equivalent to that of Tom Jobin and Vinicius de Moraes (The composers of Girl of Ipanema). Also, the entries on IMdb should've given a hint of his notability and career longevity. Anyway, if you know of a way to type Portuguese characters using our standard American keyboard it would help me a lot since I have been writing several articles about Brazilian bands and musicians. Thanks a lot for your help and patience. Meanax 17:07, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

When you're editing an article, look down below the edit box, down below the buttons for saving, previewing, etc. There is a listing of characters you can copy and paste. I think the character you want is there: ç. You can also type this character using the keyboard by holding the ALT key and typing 135 on the numpad... Valrith 21:25, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Correct Spelling

Allmusic and IMdb has the correct spelling. Does anyone know how to type the "c" in Valenca like it shows on those sites? Meanax 18:00, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Yes - see above. Valrith 19:30, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
Varith, can you help me change the name to reflect the correct spelling? Meanax 14:51, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
Done. Valrith 19:49, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
