Apparently?

According to the article

"Some Fulham fans have taken to calling McBride "Yee-Haw"

Oh yeah? I don't really believe this - none of the Fulham fans I know have used this term, nor have I ever heard it on the terraces.

listen to the end of this video [ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQkCs3AwFeU ]. You can hear the play-by-play announcer call him "Yee-Haw".

Happy birthday Brian

Can't believe this guy's 34 today, he plays with the energy of somebody much younger. He's having a great world cup.

The best player from the US ever to play in England? Kasey Keller would run him close, perhaps, but certainly the best *outfield* US-born player ever to play here IMV. Martyn Smith 09:23, 19 June 2006 (UTC) (Villa fan)

What about Roy Wegerle? Badgerpatrol 22:02, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
As far as I know, Wegele didn't come to the United States until college, and didn't become a citizen until he was nearly 30. So I wouldn't count him. Aside from keepers, I'd say it would be between McBride and Reyna. Faithlessthewonderboy 19:29, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Soccer vs. Football

He's American, people. All the other USMNT players are addressed as 'American Soccer players', even those playing for clubs in England. Why should he be an exception? It's been changed back and forth several times. Eddie17 12:53, 30 November 2006 (UTC]

Hence the compromise I've left it at, using football (soccer), as per the article on football itself. I'm happy to leave soccer in brackets, but it shouldn't be the primary term used in an article about a player that's probably best known outside his own country. robwingfield «TC» 15:12, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

My Kingdom for a Writer

The first paragraph under "National Team" heading is a mess. I do not have time to untangle it.

I reorganized the text on the section so it is a little more comprehensive. Thanks. --ChaChaFut 18:52, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Honours

Article should mention (or summarize) what accomplishments (titles, awards) the player has reached throughout his career. --ChaChaFut 18:39, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

photo

Picture? Could his picture be replaced with 1 of him loomking slightly less constipated?

And with eyes preferably? We've got to find a free one. I'll look around. -Eddie17

McBride was listed a few places, notably Cosmo, as one of the "sexiest Olympians". I don't suggest adding that to the article, but I think it helps highlight than in the article photo he looks like a troll. Can somebody upload one where he isn't in the middle of blinking while licking his lips? 69.244.89.213 (talk) 19:40, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Sadly for Cosmo, he's really ugly :-D --necronudist (talk) 19:47, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

John or Robert?

D'you know? --necronudist 13:56, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

I couldn't verify either, so I deleted John. If anyone has a reputable source on this, please fix it! Faithlessthewonderboy 20:21, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Un-tag article?

I've been working to improve this article, especially by providing references and deleting unverified information. I think enough has been done so that the article does not need the tag at the top of the page. Not that I'm finished, but I've done a fair bit, I think. Anyone have an opinion on this? Goals in Germany

It says in the Germany section that one of his 2 goals was scored in a German Cup game. If this is true his tally games (goals) should be 18 (1) since only leage games count. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.202.5.244 (talk) 22:31, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

High school career

Came across a November 4, 1989 article in the Chicago Sun-Times. It's not online, but here's a few lines from it: "Last year, he broke his nose in the first half of a supersectional matchup with Fremd. Despite the injury, McBride returned to score the game-winning goal in a 3-2 double overtime victory that propelled Buffalo Grove into the state finals. This season, McBride scored 32 goals and added 10 assists despite playing as an attacking defender for the Bison. Perhaps the game that best showed McBride's dominance was the regional final against then top-ranked Stevenson. It was decided by penalty kicks and McBride played goalie for the Bison, turning back four of the eight shots he faced for the victory." Mohrflies (talk) 15:21, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Who is this?

In he introduction, there is the following sentence (with no closing punctuation:

His second cousin is Ben Hardy

Who is Hardy? If he is well known, then he should probably be linked (or explained). Kdammers (talk) 10:19, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
