Thai name

Since the article already has the name of the memorial in Singapore's other three official languages, shouldn't the Thai name be listed as well? Durova 22:58, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

You mean Tamil. And yes, it should be if someone who knows Tamil can add it. -- ran (talk) 01:30, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
There has always been a desire to have all four official languages represented in Singapore-related articles. Unfortunately, it is relatively difficult to include Tamil names, partly because romanised Tamil is relatively common for the benefit of non-Tamils here, with the script not always readily displayed. We strive to add the Tamil scripts instead, and not everyone are atuned to actually typing tamil. I managed to learn to do it without knowing much Tamil thou. :D--Huaiwei 02:32, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Official names

Is there a source for the official names in Chinese and Malay? I find it odd how they both seem to explicitly state "Memorial for Civilians Killed During the Japanese Occupation", while the official English is just the bland "Civilian War Memorial". Jpatokal 03:05, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

I've added the full name according to the inscription on the memorial itself. —Sengkang 03:19, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Memorials to Victims of War

Is there a Wikipedia article for Memorials to Victims of War which can include this article and sites like The Peace Abbey in Sherborn, Massachusetts, which has (a) a Courage of Conscience Award (many of its recipients have Wikipedia articles) and (b) (a standing bronze memorial to) Emily the Cow, a hardy cow who courageously escaped the oppressive slaughterhouse?? There IS an article Monument to the Victims of All Wars, but the article would attempt to comprehensively list all such memorials. MaynardClark (talk) 21:07, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
