GA on hold

  • I don't think you should mention who wrote it before you mention who it's by (No Doubt).
  • "It received positive reviews from music critics." - Stubby sentence which could be elaborated.
  • "..fifth studio album Rock Steady (2001)." - Could this be a link to 2001 in music (as per the link in the next paragraph)
  • Sections need re-ordering. As far as I know, we place all the stuff done by the musician (background, video, etc.) before the stuff controlled externally (charts, critical reception). So you should swap the critical reception section with the music video section, IMO.
  • Is it possible to get a free image of them performing this song at a concert?
  • Table of chartings should be moved to Chart performance section, and a level 3 header should instead be used.
  • Is there a ref for the track listing?

And that's all I've got for now - go nuts! — Dihydrogen Monoxide (H2O) 02:41, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Saying who wrote the song is generally done to identify the song itself since articles pertain to any recordings or performances of the song, not necessarily the first or most famous one. I've expanded the sentence to include some more of what the Critical reception statement says. Wikipedia:WikiProject Music/MUSTARD#Internal links says to only use the links to years in music sparingly, and 2001 in music is relevant to Rock Steady (album), not so much this article. The structure you're referring to is one way to organize it, but I generally find it more useful to use a chronological order. The song was written, then critics discussed it when the album was released, and then the single was released around the same time as the music video. It's theoretically possible to get a picture, but it would be rather challenging. Most people don't label pictures by the name of the song performed (especially No Doubt hasn't performed in a few years), and there's no easy way to identify which song it is, unlike the Gwen Stefani songs where she has a different outfit for nearly every other song. I did a Flickr search, and none of the No Doubt concert pictures, are identified as "Hella Good". The convention for near every article I've seen is to have the table of chart positions in a separate section near the end. Track listings don't need explicit references since they're inherently referenced to the single itself (like plot summaries). The link issue from the automated review is probably coming from the infobox or references that are close to each other, but I'm not sure how to spin out another paragraph for the lead. Do you have any suggestions, or would that just make the lead too detailed/trivial? 17Drew 20:30, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

You're right about the auto PR linkage, ignore that. As for the lead, I think the only thing that isn't currently mentioned is the critical reception of the music video, and that is slightly trivial, so I'm going to pass it regardless. Do try and find an image though...I know with Powderfinger, some of their songs are recognizable by the video on the screen behind them (ie. with Waiting for the Sun (song), it's a massive sun, which also shows up in the music video), so if you see something that resembles the video when looking through Flickr, that could be it ;-) Dihydrogen Monoxide (H2O) 03:27, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
