Merge Jens Bergensten into Mojang

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a merge. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the merge request was: not merged. DarthBotto talkcont 21:31, 04 April 2012 (UTC)

Oppose - Just copy/paste the minecraftwiki article, this guy is kinda important to the game minecraft, you guys... Also, merging his page with Mojäng AB is like merging Gabe Newell's page with Valve corperation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.170.243.224 (talk) 05:35, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

Oppose - Unlike the unsigned comment by 67.170.243.224, I don't believe this article should be made up of a copy-paste move; we make Wikipedia articles at our own discretion and do not plagiarize. That being said, I believe this person is of enough importance by this point that he can have his own article. He is the current lead designer of one of the most-popular games in the world, as well as a developer for other games for one of the premiere independent developers with aggressive expansion efforts. Sure, this article should be rewritten, but we should find that it is quite capable of maintaining by its own materials and references. DarthBotto talkcont 02:49, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

Oppose - Jens is a lead designer of some popular games, and, of course the highly popular Minecraft. I think he's notable enough to have his own article, but it does need to be improved. Wagner u t c 20:59, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

Support - Jens really isn't all that famous, he is just a developer (not the original) of a popular game. He should just be noted in the employees section of the Mojang article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.185.126.180 (talk) 13:33, 17 February 2012 (UTC)

Oppose - I tried to translate the article I've written in the German Wiki, so there now are a lot more details about Mr. Bergensten. Maybe also some of the other tags could be removed ... -- Moritz Wickendorf (talk) 16:30, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Support - I agree that this and also Notch (game designer) should be merged into Mojang. Instead of having two merger discussions open at once, I've decided to open an RfC on Talk:Mojang to see if we can get some more opinions. Please comment there. Thanks, Nathan2055talk - review 17:23, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

Oppose - I strongly believe that notch and Jens are of the importance of their own Wikipedia pages. -- Thomas888b (Say Hi) 20:04, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

Oppose Jeb has notability that is only partially tied to Mojang, but also to Oxeye and other things. He very much has independent notability at this point. SilverserenC 01:26, 2 April 2012 (UTC)

birthdate

here is a link citing Jeb's birthday: Heymister14 (talk) 20:51, 19 August 2012 (UTC)heymister14

Regarding Jeb's Name

  • "Peder" - his middle name - is not cited. I cannot find any other page that uses that middle name.
  • "Jeb" - his nickname - is not mentioned in the article.

My idea is to refer to Jens Bergensten as Jens "Jeb" Bergensten.Yoshiman6464 (talk) 05:13, 10 January 2016 (UTC)
