List of survival games section
Do we really need this section? It doesn't help the article in any way. Anarchyte 06:33, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
- Nearly all of our genre articles have a list of games in that genre - for the larger ones like FPS this tends to be a link to a category since the list would be impossibly large. Here it is to help provide the reader with examples of such games. It does need more entries to be added. --MASEM (t) 14:16, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
- I agree. I tried my best to add games prior to 2011 to the list, but I focused on action games. There are some simulation games and RPGs where the central theme is about survival (like the Mujintou Monogatari series), but I have not added these games to the list because they are not action games. -- ThiagoSimoes (talk) 19:03, 9 June 2016 (UTC)

- Oppose. The term "survival game" is used more ofthen than "survival video game". The WP:VG/RS custom Google search engine shows that "survival game" has 592,000 hits, while "survival video game" has 14,700. WP:NATURAL does not apply, as there is no other "survival game" article (the hatnote I just removed was a link to Airsoft, which doesn't mention the word "survival" at all). Also, compare the video game genres action role-playing game, not action role-playing video game; stealth game, not stealth video game; God game, not God video game; tactical role-playing game, not tactical role-playing video game; sports game, not sports video game; etc, etc, etc. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 09:41, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
- Only as a note, if you look to sources before, say, 2010, "survival game" is commonly connected to airsoft, though clearly today, the genre is the clearly the main use of the term, the hatnote is still reasonable. - Oppose While In ictu oculi points out properly that if you go by books, there's a lot of varied meaning to the term, the one use that consistenly has the most weight in a google news search is the video game genre. None of the other "survival game" possibilities given by books are encyclopedic topics in of themselves (it's a catchphrase, but without any significant legacy, or at least otherwise connected to 'survival of the fittest'), so it doesn't make sense to complicate the title when nothing else would take its place. --MASEM (t) 13:29, 6 April 2017 (UTC)

Replace reference images from Minetest with Minecraft reference images
Minetest is a Minecraft clone, and should not represent survival game aspects for what it is. Although Minetest was released in 2010 and Minecraft was released in 2011, Minecraft was in public development from 2009 up to it's release in 2011. Minetest took many of the core features from early Minecraft public test branches and released their clone of Minecraft before Minecraft in an attempt to claim Minecraft's success. Having a Minecraft clone as an example for the survival game genre is very irresponsible.The first image should be replaced by a Minecraft image or a different image showing the qualities of a survival game.The Second image should be replaced with an image showing the original Minecraft crafting interface, and not the one Minetest copied.
