Your edit history indicates you have briefly worked on the article on Anna Leonowens. Recently this version of the article has been contested by User:J M Rice who calls it "POV" and reduces the article to a stub version by removing most content. Could you contribute your own opinion on the discussion? Up till now we seem to be reverting back and forth undproductively. User:Dimadick

• ชั้นเอก - highly honored wat or very important, with chedi containing Buddha relic.
• ชั้นโท - honored or has important chedi.
• ชั้นตรี - honored, being the main temple of a major city, or less important than higher level.

I have seen Phu Thai written as ภูไท, ผู้ไท or ผู้ไทย. They all refer to the same ethnic.I am not sure which one is the term used officially in ethnic study.

For Bai Si Su Khwan, it's a custom to bring in luck to people who participates. One popular reason to hold such event is to performed to new students to a university. Some photos can be found here [2] (at Prince of Songkhla University). The green thing made from banana leaves in the fourth picture of the second row is Bai Si. The term Su Khwan means bring khwan back. According to old belief, khwan is inside each individual and may leave him/her during scared, sickness, sadness, etc. Part of this event is tying cotton thread to the wrist of participants by respected person (in third photo, last row - tied by University professors). -- Lerdsuwa 16:00, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Phu Thai is actually written as ภูไท coming from ภู for mountain (ie. mountain thai). I lived in a Phu Thai village for 2 years and that is how they spelled it. It is not ผู้ไท, which is an entirely different tone and meaning. -- User:202.129.59.2 15:32, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Aphai means forgive, Racha means king - so direct translation doesn't give the desired meaning. Maybe the term "vice-roy" was used in newspapers or documents. It may also came from his duty as a royal advisor. He was one of the five advisor to the queen when King Rama V travelled to Europe for 9 months. Guten Tag. I would like to thank you for reverting vandalism in Preah Vihear Temple. It is very disgraceful and so annoying. I have once asked sysop to semi-protect that page up, but they wouldn't will to do so. What could I possibly do next? You can put one of these templates on top(!) of your page:

Hello Heinrich, I've noticed and enjoyed your edits to Cambodia-related articles in the past. I noticed your edit to Phnom Penh (as I assume you noticed mine). I've recently finished going through the 24 Provinces of Cambodia trying to 1) add the Khmer script to each article - in the infobox and the lead and 2) make sure they are formatted consistently. Currently, the other province articles don't use the lang-km template inside the infobox, only in the lead text. It seem like a good practice to me as the highlighted link to Khmer Language at the top of the infobox appears more prominently than the Khmer name of the place itself, which is distracting. Hi, Paxse. You're quite right, my edit within the infobox doesn't look very good. What I intended was this: adding a directive for the webbrowser to know how to render a certain foreign-language script. It can also be used for the user, to apply in his own css file a special look to this script (like I did in my User:Hdamm/monobook.css). I wasn't aware, that in English Wikipedia the use of {{lang-km|... adds a link to Khmer language to the schript, while the {{lang|km|... (you see the difference?) just formats the font. No apologies are needed, thank you for fixing it. And thank you for the explanation. So, perhaps I should be adding {{lang|km|... in the info boxes to aid in displaying the font in different browsers? That is a very useful piece of information, thank you. Does this allow you to see the Khmer unicode font normally? For example can you see Khmer script here ----> ពោធិ៍សាត់? or do you have Khmer Unicode installed already? I have been considering adding a small tag to each article to help puzzled readers without Khmer Unicode. this would explain that Khmer scripts are used in the article and include a link to the appropriate unicode page for those who wish to download. Yes, I can see your Khmer scrip above - though I don't know what it means. And no, I don't have a special Khmer-Unicode installed, just the "normal" Unicode font. Background: at first I was fed up with those little squares in some texts so I activated "DaunPenh.ttf" (it comes with my Windows-Vista-installation). The next problem was my bowser: it rendered the script so very small, it was only a black blob. So I put the lang-template around it and now I can adjust the size of the script with my monobook.css. Another advantage: as I put the colour green to my lang-template I can see quite easily, which parts of script do not yet have the template: that's all the small black ones ;-)

This page contains Khmer text. Without proper rendering support, you may see question marks, boxes, or other symbols instead of Khmer script.

I find it a good idea to put up this small box with hints, like you can see on the right (I found it in Khmer script). In Help:Multilingual support theres more help. I would find it also a good idea, if all occurrences of Khmer script in Wikipedia would have the {{lang|km|...

Hallo Heinrich, Thank you for editing the article! But are you certain that Vegetable Carving is not also refered to as Kae-Sa-Luk? According to this source, it is. Does Kae-Sa-Luk only refer to Thai carvings? I'm not quite an expert on Vegetable Carving, so if you could tell me why it is/is not, that would be wonderful. And what is the difference between "Westerner" and "Farang"? BTW: did you check th:ฝรั่ง? This page has nothing to do with those Farang from our article, its just a disambiguation, and deals with Guave, French and France. So why should we link to it? --hdamm (talk) 15:10, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

th:Farang is linked with all other wikis Farang named articles. Since there is no specific article for the expression, ฝรั่ง is the best interwiki. It's the page to the name, and show what other acceptations of the word.

The Westerner is something else, and the page refers to films, series and newspaper ...

Maybe you should read the linked Thai article then? In the first paragraph "ทำไมถึงเรียกว่าตะวันตก" ("Why it is called West") it is written: ... เรา เรียก ชาวตะวันตก ต่อเมื่อ เขา เป็น คน ฝรั่ง เช่น ชาวยุโรป ชาวอเมริกัน ชาว ออสเตรเลีย ล้วน เรียก ว่า ชาวตะวันตก ("we call westeners Farang, for example Europeans, Americans, Australians - all are called westeners"). Wow, now I know what you mean: the Interwiki link from th:ชาวตะวันตก went to The Westerner. Well, as this Thai article has nothing to do with "The Westerner" but goes about "Inhabitants of the Western World", I changed the Interwiki link accordingly. If you change the th interwiki here, change it also in interwikis of th:ฝรั่ง (de:Farang, en:Farang, fr:Farang,nl:Farang,ru:Фаранг and wuu:法朗 (泰语))), and move th:ฝรั่ง interwikis to th:ชาวตะวันตก ;) (I don't speak thaï.
