G'day. I have nothing against ABC radio. The references to Amir in Parliament and ABC Radio were not directly about Amir, but about the views he had which were different to those of the Muslim community. They were therefore not secondary sources about Amir and couldn't be used. I don't think a few incidental (and of course there is a lot of room to argue whether they were incidental) references didn't get Amir over the multiple primary source criteria. However, the Media Watch article directly seeks the views of Amir (rather than using them as a discussion oint), and I see that as justifying notability. Thank you for your comments on my editing of the Ken Ticehurst article, I am only new to wikipedia so still finding my way around and the feedback is good. I must say though that I didn't put the maiden speech "back in", I put it in on July 23 for the first time unless you have found it in the history by another user.

I have a question and not sure where to ask them, hope you can help:- I have read comments from yourself and another user about other content in the article. It has been suggested that both the Committee section and the patron organisations be deleted. In my experience of MPs I have found that this is where their personal interest can trully be seen, the committees they agree to be on and the Associations they represent often tell a bigger story than any Press Releases or speeches. I would have thought that researchers would have found this information interesting.

I was planning on working on all the MPS from the NSW Central Coast and Central Coast related articles in general. It was my intention to include these two items where possible but I don't want to create a future cleanup for someone else. AusBrian 02:59, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

The issue with Andrews and his publication record is of concern in his community of peers and academics. Such matters are often not caught up with for many years, but are regarded quite seriously for public officials and academics (as a former Monash VC,caught for plagarism discovered). Thanks for creating this page- looks good. I've created a lot of the other NSW country ones, and the convention that I've used is that for lines that end at a terminal point, I've named them by the destination, such as Bombala railway line, New South Wales and Murwillumbah railway line, New South Wales etc, and for lines that connect two other lines, I've named acording to the points that they connect on the other lines, such as Molong- Dubbo railway line, New South Wales. I'm sorry you feel I assumed bad intent; I did not. In fact, it upsets me that you think I would. I simply made a bad choice of word in "false", the pejorative connotations of which escaped me at quarter past one in the morning. To assure you, I was just editing the text as it was, without knowledge of whomever added it, and the reference provided did not support the text. Before I realised the reference was not correct, I actually redrafted the text in an attempt to include it, as as far Australian journalists go, Kelly is fairly noteworthy.

Wikipedia policy at WP:NOT#NEWS looks to be be relevant here and I think those paras should probably go before the article becomes a magnet for party hacks (if it hasn't already). What do you think? Hi, GW. I tend to be a little inflexible about candidate's articles as they nearly always seem to be a forum for POV pushers. Having said that, this one doesn't look too bad (and you are definitely not a POV pusher! :-)) and the references you added has improved it a lot. It almost meets the general notability guideline in WP:N, in which case not meeting WP:BIO would then become moot. If another independent source asserting notability can be found similar to The Australian Higher Ed article I would be happy to change my !vote to weak keep on that basis. On a general note, I can see articles on election candidates becoming more and more of an issue as the election gets closer and some consensus on what is acceptable may be useful. Hi GW. As for Kyneton, I just keyed off the existing transcription /ˈkɑen.tən/, which according to the provided link has the vowel of wise (phonetically not very different than GA or RP, really), and converted to our generic English transcription, /aɪ/. (That notation is a compromise, by the way, of RP, GA, and Aus; it's intermediate between RP [ʌi] and Aus [ɑe], though in this instance quite close to GA.) There wasn't anything in the existing transcription to make me think this was a special local form, or I would have asked on the talk page. Any of our readers could do this, of course, but many struggle with the basics of the IPA, and converting between dialects might be too much to ask of them. I assume that anyone who is told that Kyneton has the vowel of wise, upon picking up an Australian accent, would be able to pronounce it correctly as [ˈkɑentən], but someone not familiar with Australian probably won't be able to pronounce it like wise if all they're given is /ˈkɑentən/. kwami 01:33, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

On my google book search here it states By Kenneth Eric Eckersall, Brunswick South Primary School, this to me says that Eckersall is writing the book as a part of or agent of the school, im not too familiar with google books or book terminology etc. This to me just simply suggests that the book is a primary source, hence my comments. I merely deleted the name of the principal from the lead of the article, where: it was both mentioned in the infobox, and there was a list of principals/headmasters later in the article. Eg: here i removed the name of the principal from the lead, which repeated the information in the list of principals, which both stated she started in late June 2005, this information was repeated for a third time in the infobox. You may well have seen my comments on other talk pages or the noticeboard - I really think the idea is fine if not a bit odd to have crowns when there has been very consistent and steady removal of such insignia from the australian administrative and legal scene over the last two decades - and the whole thing of countitis in my opinion is being such a way of isolating some editors in median range edit counts who may never get around to the ga and fa stages before they drop out of the whole editing process (having known quite a few such persons) - however having said all that - I really think that some of the hack workers need accolades for the backroom stuff sometime - maybe a slouch hat and corks - for being the bloody drovers - who keep the projects alive and moving and who have edit counts or edit histories that arent so oriented towards back slapping - but then I'm not around for pursuing this much further - im off and out for quite a while - but ive said my bit about it anyways - btw like the name changes - hard to keep up! The edits I made to the Tony Abbot pages does not violate the biography of a living person policy in any way, as the dilemna itself was closely documented by the media. Just because the allegations were determined false, does not mean that they shouldn't be a part of his biopgrahy. Again... if your logic were sound, then OJ Simpsons murder charge information shouldn't be included in the wikipedia, because he was proven innocent. Sorry about the misunderstanding. I had a long day today. As for the warnings I have issued, I will be honest. I have issued Level 4 warnings right off the bat, just to deter vandalism. Most of the time, I issue a Level 3 warning first. I almost never issue the first two warnings, because I have found them to be without teeth. Just to make sure that I don't get the wrong person, I normally issue warnings to people who I can ascertain, with certainty, that they are committing in acts of vandalism.

Hi Matilda, I have reprotected South Australian general election, 2006 as it is tommorrows Featured article. As per Wikipedia:Main Page featured article protection#Move protection, the article is move protected to prevent moves by vandals and by well-meaning editors. It would require many link changes if an article were to be moved. It is assumed that the name is agreed upon because of the various stages of review that it has been through. Regards. Dear Matilda: I do not understand why The Digital Entertainment Network article was deleted. There are plenty of articles about other active companies on Wikipedia. I know you were against it being deleted but it appears that there are numerous individuals on Wikipedia who are guided by their own personal biases rather than by objective information. According to Wikipedia's guidelines any information entered is supposed to be accepted in good faith until proven otherwise but I have found the exact opposite is true with Wikipedia's editors. I would like the article reinstated as we have as much right to have our company information listed as does General Motors.
