In line wi the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011, the election haed been due tae tak place on 7 Mey 2020, but a cry for an early election bi Prime Meenister Theresa May received the necessar super-majority o twa-thirds tae allae it tae proceed when it wis supportit bi a vote o 522 tae 13 o the 650 Members o Pairlament in the Hoose o Commons on 19 Apryle 2017.[1]
