village and former municipality in Overijssel, the Netherlands
Hasselt is a small city seven km north of Zwolle city, in the province of Overijssel, the Netherlands. About 7,400 people were living there in 2021.
Hasselt was also a municipality. In 2001, it became a part of the new created municipality of Zwartewaterland, of which Hasselt is the seat.
Hasselt got city rights in 1252, and joined the Hanseatic League about 1350.
