Hossein Sheikholeslam (Persian: حسین شیخالاسلام; 29 November 1952 – 5 March 2020) was an Iranian politician, activist and diplomat. He was an advisor to the foreign minister Javad Zarif.[1][2] He also was a member of the Seventh Islamic Parliament of Iran fro 2004 to 2008. He was the Iranian ambassador to Syria from 1998 to 2003.[3] He was born Isfahan, Iran.

Sheikholeslam was one of the students/militants who held Americans hostage during the Iran hostage crisis.[4]
Sheikholeslam died on 5 March 2020 in Tehran from the novel coronavirus.[5][6]
