Robert F. Taft
American Jesuit historian and liturgist (1932-2018)
Robert Francis Taft, S.J. (January 9, 1932 – November 2, 2018) was an American Jesuit priest and Archimandrite of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island.
He was one of the 23 Eastern Catholic Churches in full communion with the Holy See of Rome. He was an expert in Oriental liturgy and a professor emeritus of the Pontifical Oriental Institute in Rome, of which he was the Vice-rector between 1995 and 2001.
Taft died on November 2, 2018 in Weston, Massachusetts at the age of 86.[1]
