Trần Thiện Khiêm
South Vietnamese commander (1925-2021)
General Trần Thiện Khiêm (15 December 1925 – 24 June 2021) was a Vietnamese military officer. He was an officer in the army of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War.
During the 1960s he was involved in several coups d'état. He helped President Ngô Đình Diệm put down a coup attempt in November 1960. He was rewarded with promotion. In 1963 he was involved in the coup that deposed and assassinated Ngo Dinh Diem.[1] From 1969 until 1975, he was the Prime Minister of South Vietnam.
Khiêm died on 24 June 2021 in San Jose, California at the age of 95.[2]
