Zoltan Istvan
Zoltan Istvan Gyurko,[1] professionally known as Zoltan Istvan (born 1973), is an American transhumanist,[2] journalist,[3] entrepreneur[4][5] and Libertarian futurist.[6][7]

Formerly a reporter for the National Geographic Channel.[8] He wrote for Vice's Motherboard,[9] Wired,[10] The Huffington Post,[11] TechCrunch[12] and Newsweek.
In late 2014, Istvan announced his plans to run for President of the United States in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.[13] In 2017, Istvan announced his plans to run for Governor of California in the 2018 election as a member of the Libertarian Party.[14][15]
In November 2017, Istvan announced his plans to run for President of the United States in the 2020 presidential election for the Libertarian Party.[16] In January 2019, he announced that he withdrew from the Libertarian primary.[17]
In November 2019, Istvan announced his candidacy for the Republican Party's nomination in the 2020 United States presidential election, hoping to win the GOP nomination against President Donald Trump.[18]
