Vào 8 tháng 4 năm 2019, Microsoft ra mắt Microsoft Edge mới dựa trên [[Chromium (trình duyệt)|Chromium]] và [[Blink]] dưới Kênh người dùng nội bộ Microsoft Edge (Microsoft Edge Insider Channel) và vẫn đang trong giai đoạn thử nghiệm. Người dùng có thể tải về nhưng chưa thay thế được Edge phiên bản cũ mà tách ra thành ứng dụng riêng biệt. Hiện nay phiên bản này hỗ trợ [[Windows 10]] [[32-bit]] và [[64-bit]], [[macOS]]. Phiên bản này có 3 kênh thử nghiệm: Beta, Dev và Canary. Khi được ra mắt chính thức, sẽ có thêm kênh Stable làm kênh chính thức.
