This editor is a Vanguard Editor and is entitled to display this Unobtainium Editor Star with the Neutronium Superstar hologram.
The Gàidhlig noun "buaidh" means victory, triumph, and success.

The Wikimedian  Buaidh  is a public advocate for liberal democracy, egalitarianism, environmental protection and conservation biology; a retired Professional Engineer and Expert Witness, a pioneer coder, an amateur historian and geographer, a rosarian, cartophile, velophile, decorated and disabled combat veteran, cancer survivor (so far), and loveable (?) curmudgeon.

Like many other English language Wikipedia editors, this editor:

  1. Is a native anglophone.
  2. Lives in a predominately anglophone country.
  3. Lives in a predominately Christian country .
  4. Lives in a predominately prosperous country.

Unlike many other Wikipedia editors, this editor:

  1. Is a septuagenarian.
  2. Is a humanist and a secularist.
  3. Is an engineer and a scientist.
  4. Prefers American spelling, British punctuation, Canadian manners, Mexican food, long scale billions, the serial comma, and the International System of Units.

Despite the above, this editor endeavors to be as objective as humanly possible. I try to encourage new users to contribute to the English-language Wikipedia, especially users in developing countries and non-English speaking regions. I currently coordinate WikiProject Colorado, the Wikimedians of Colorado User Group, and the Wikimedians of the U.S. Mountain West. I'm a member of the North American Hub Advisory Committee.

My Wikipedia interests are quite diverse. My recent focus has been on history, geography, geodesy, and mountains. Despite a lethal and incurable illness, I still rank among the 200 most prolific Wikipedians by number of edits to the English-language Wikipedia.

Please feel free to leave me a message at User talk:Buaidh, or e-mail me at Special:EmailUser/Buaidh.

Yours aye,
