Cory Anthony Booker (born April 27, 1969) is an American politician and the junior United States Senator from New Jersey. He is a member of the U.S. Democratic Party. He has been in office since 2013. Before being senator, he served as mayor of Newark from 2006 to 2013.
His brother is Cary Booker II, named after their father Cary Booker.[3] In 1969, his parents fought hard against racism by insisting to buy a house in an area where black people were not welcome.[4]
