Jens Christian Skou
Danish chemist (1918-2018)
Jens Christian Skou (Danish pronunciation: [ˈjɛns kʁæsdjæn ˈsɡʌʊ̯ˀ]; October 8, 1918 – May 28, 2018) was a Danish medical doctor and Nobel laureate. He was born in Lemvig, Denmark. In 1997, he received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry (together with Paul D. Boyer and John E. Walker) for his discovery of Na+,K+-ATPase.[1]
Skou died on 28 May 2018 in Aarhus, Denmark at the age of 99, five months short of his 100th birthday.[2][3][4]
