Gadgets

Below is a list of special gadgets users can enable on their preferences page, as defined by the definitions.This overview provides easy access to the system message pages that define each gadget's description and code.

Browsing gadgets

• Reference Tooltips: Roll over any inline citation to see reference information, instead of having to move away from the article text.  (View description | Export)

  Enabled for everyone by default.
• Twinkle, a set of tools that automates common tasks such as reporting vandalism, warning vandals, and requesting deletion.  (View description | Export)

• Prosesize: add a toolbox link to show the size of and number of words in a page  (View description | Export)

• HotCat: Easily add / remove / change a category on an image, with name suggestion  (View description | Export)

• Vandal Warner: Easily add warning messages on talk page of vandals.  (View description | Export)

• refTools, adds a "cite" button to the editing toolbar for quick and easy addition of commonly used citation templates.  (View description | Export)

Interface gadgets

• Add a "change" link for the first section of a page  (View description | Export)

• Add a "Last" tab to the top of the page which shows the difference of the current version with the last version.  (View description | Export)

• Contributions Range: Allow /16,/24-/32 CIDR ranges on Special:Contributions forms (uses API), as well as wildcard Prefix searches, eg: Splark*  (View description | Export)

• Logs Filter: Allows regex-based filtering of Special:Log. While this originally was intended for areas such as Special:Log/rights it now allows filtering of almost any page that has <li> on it.  (View description | Export)

• Watchlist notifier: Alerts you when a page on your watch list is changed.  (View description | Export)

• Highlight Administrators: Highlights the link to the talk pages of Administrators to make them easier to locate.  (View description | Export)

• Bracket Match - A gadget that simplifies the creation of templates with parser functions  (View description | Export)

• Change UTC-based times and dates, such as those used in signatures, to be relative to local time. (documentation)  (View description | Export)

• Enhanced Interwikis: The interwiki box will be able to cycle from language names in English to their native languages and their actual links. To cycle, click "in other languages".  (View description | Export)

• HighlightRedirect: Adds a tab to the top of the page which highlights redirects in green.  (View description | Export)
