The String Quartet No. 14 in C♯ minor, Opus 131, is a string quartet by Ludwig van Beethoven. He wrote it between November 1825 and July 1826. It was published in Mainz, Germany in April 1827 (after Beethoven's death) with a dedication to Baron Joseph von Stutterheim.[1]
The work consists of seven movements played without a break:
- Adagio ma non troppo e molto espressivo
- Allegro molto vivace
- Allegro moderato
- Andante ma non troppo e molto cantabile
- Presto
- Adagio quasi un poco andante
- Allegro
It is about 40 minutes in length.
