AMOLED

AMOLED (tiếng Việt: công nghệ màn hình phát quang hữu cơ ma trận chủ động, là viết tắt của từ tiếng Anh active-matrix organic light-emitting diode, /ˈæmoʊˌlɛd/) là một công nghệ hiển thị được sử dụng trong đồng hồ thông minh, thiết bị di động, máy tính xách tay, và TV. OLED mô tả một loại hình cụ thể của công nghệ hiển thị màn mỏng trong đó các hợp chất hữu cơ tạo thành vật liệu quang điện, và ma trận chủ động đề cập tới công nghệ đằng sau xếp địa chỉ các pixel.

Tính đến năm 2008^{[cập nhật]}, công nghệ AMOLED được sử dụng trong điện thoại di động, máy nghe nhạc và máy ảnh kĩ thuật số,^[1] và tiếp tục tiến tới các ứng dụng sử dụng ít năng lượng, chi phí thấp và màn hình lớn (ví dụ như, 40-inch).^[2]^[3]^[4]

Nhược điểm

Nhược điểm (có lẽ là duy nhất) của màn hình AMOLED là việc độ sáng của nó vẫn chưa thể ngang bằng với các loại màn hình LCD, do đó trong điều kiện ánh sáng mặt trời, khả năng hiển thị của loại màn hình này vẫn còn đôi chút hạn chế. Samsung đã tìm cách khắc phục nhược điểm này bằng việc nghiên cứu công nghệ Super AMOLED, trong đó giảm bớt khoảng cách giữa các lớp màn hình AMOLED để hạn chế hiện tượng tán xạ ánh sáng, từ đó mang đến chất lượng hiển thị tốt hơn.
