पूर्व जर्मनी (जर्मन: Ostdeutschland ओस्टडॉइचलांड), औपचारिक रूप से जर्मन लोकतांत्रिक गणराज्य (जर्मन: Deutsche Demokratische Republik डॉयच डेमोक्राटिश रेपुब्लिक) शीत युद्ध के दौरान पूर्वी ब्लॉक का एक देश था।

The initial flag of East Germany adopted in 1948 was identical to that of West Germany.
