Rahmat dalam Kekristenan

Di dalam teologi Kristen Barat, rahmat, kasih karunia, atau anugerah adalah pertolongan yang diberikan Allah kepada seseorang karena Allah menghendaki orang itu mendapatkan pertolongan-Nya, bukan lantaran ada amal perbuatan orang itu yang setimpal dengan pertolongan-Nya.^[1] Umat Kristen memahami rahmat sebagai karunia spontan dari Allah kepada umat manusia. Karunia spontan ini "berlimpah-limpah, cuma-cuma, dan sama sekali tidak terkira maupun setimpal dengan amal perbuatan",^[2] serta berwujud kemurahan, cinta kasih, belas kasihan, dan keikutsertaan di dalam kehidupan ilahi Allah.^[3]
