スチュアート・ホール

ジャマイカのキングストンで生まれ、1951年にイングランドのブリストルに移る。その後、研究員としてオックスフォード大学のマートン・カレッジで学ぶ。バーミンガム大学で働いた後、バーミンガム大学のリサーチ・センターであるCentre for Contemporary Cultural Studiesで働くようになる。1960年にはニューレフト・レビューの創設者の一人^[1]でもあった。
