ਸਕਾਟਲੈਂਡ ਜਾਂ ਸਕੌਟਲੈਂਡ (ਸਕਾਟਲੈਂਡੀ ਗੇਲੀ: [ਆਵਪਾ;Alba] Error: {{Lang}}: text has italic markup (help) (ਸਕਾਟਲੈਂਡੀ ਗੇਲੀ: [ˈal̪ˠapə] ( ਸੁਣੋ)) ਇੱਕ ਦੇਸ਼ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੈ।^[12][13][14] ਸਕਾਟਲੈਂਡ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਐਡਿਨਬਰਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹਦੀ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਨਾਲ਼ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਸਰਹੱਦਾਂ ਅਟਲਾਂਟਿਕ ਮਹਾਂਸਾਗਰ ਨਾਲ ਘਿਰਿਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਸਕਾਟਲੈਂਡ ਦਾ ਯੂ.ਕੇ. ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਜੋਂ ਜੁੜਨ ਦਾ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ 1707 ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਯੂ.ਕੇ. ਦੇ ਹਾਊਸ ਆਫ ਕਾਮਨਜ਼ ਦੇ ਕੁੱਲ ਚੁਣੇ ਹੋਏ 650 ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਕਾਟਲੈਂਡ ਦੇ 59 ਮੈਂਬਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਟੈਕਸਾਂ, ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ, ਰੱਖਿਆ ਮਾਮਲੇ, ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਸਬੰਧ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਡਕਾਸਟਿੰਗ ਆਦਿ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਯੂ.ਕੇ. ਪਾਰਲੀਮੈਂਟ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂਕਿ ਬਾਕੀ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਕਾਟਿਸ਼ ਪਾਰਲੀਮੈਂਟ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਬਣਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸੰਨ 2011 ਵਿੱਚ ਸਕਾਟਿਸ਼ ਪਾਰਲੀਮੈਂਟ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਕਾਟਿਸ਼ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰੀ ਬਹੁਮਤ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਲੈਕਸ ਸਲਮੰਡ ਨੂੰ ਫਸਟ ਮਨਿਸਟਰ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

Scotland has limited self-government within the United Kingdom as well as representation in the UK Parliament. It is also a UK electoral region for the European Parliament.
