2022 Pakistan floods

summer 2022 floods in Pakistan

Since June 2022, floods in Pakistan have killed at least 1,191 people, including 399 children. The floods were caused by monsoon rains and melting glaciers. It is the world's deadliest flood since the 2017 South Asian floods.[1] On August 25, Pakistan declared a state of emergency because of the flooding.[2] By August 29, it was said that around 'one-third' of the country was underwater.[3] By September 2, the death toll passed 1,200.[4]
