Billy Graham (predicatore)
William Franklin Graham Jr., maggiormente conosciuto come Billy Graham (Charlotte, 7 novembre 1918 – Montreat, 21 febbraio 2018[1]), è stato uno scrittore e predicatore statunitense.Era di religione battista.

Biografia
Graham fu un predicatore protestante evangelico che iniziò la sua attività nel 1939. Membro delle Chiese battiste del sud[2] fu un consigliere spirituale per molti presidenti degli Stati Uniti: Dwight Eisenhower nel 1952 istituì le coalizioni nazionali presidenziali, Richard Nixon lo volle per la preghiera d'investitura e poi per il suo funerale, George Bush Sr. per la guerra del Golfo del 1991.[3]
Amico di Martin Luther King, si batté contro la segregazione razziale.
Graham è morto nel 2018, quasi centenario, per le complicazioni della malattia di Parkinson, diagnosticatagli nel 1992; nel 2005 aveva promosso un'ultima "crociata di evangelizzazione" a New York.
Vita privata
Dalla moglie Ruth ebbe cinque figli, tra cui Franklin Graham, anch'egli predicatore.
