റോസ ലക്സംബർഗ്
പോളിഷ്-ജൂത-ജർമ്മൻ മാർക്സിസ്റ്റ് സൈദ്ധാന്തികയും സോഷ്യലിസ്റ്റ് തത്ത്വശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞയും വിപ്ലവകാരിയുമായിരുന്നു റോസാ ലക്സംബർഗ് (മാർച്ച് 5, 1871 - ജനുവരി 15, 1919)[1]. സോഷ്യൽ ഡെമോക്രാറ്റിക് പാർട്ടി ഓഫ് ജർമ്മനി, ഇൻഡിപ്പെൻഡന്റ് സോഷ്യൽ ഡെമോക്രാറ്റിക് പാർട്ടി, കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് പാർട്ടി ഓഫ് ജർമ്മനി എന്നിവയ്ക്ക് വേണ്ടി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.

1914-ൽ സോഷ്യൽ ഡെമോക്രാറ്റിക് പാർട്ടി ഒന്നാം ലോകമഹായുദ്ധത്തിൽ ജർമ്മനി പങ്കുകൊള്ളുന്നതിനെ അനുകൂലിച്ചപ്പോൾ കാൾ ലിബ്നെക്റ്റുമൊത്ത് സ്പാർട്ടകുസ്ബുണ്ട് (സ്പാർട്ടസിസ്റ്റ് ലീഗ്) എന്ന വിപ്ലവപാർട്ടി രൂപവത്കരിച്ചു. 1919 ജനുവരി 1-ന് ഇത് കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് പാർട്ടി ഓഫ് ജർമ്മനി ആയി മാറി. 1918 നവംബറിൽ ജർമ്മൻ വിപ്ലവസമയത്ത് ഡീ റോട്ട ഫാന (ചെങ്കൊടി) എന്ന ഇടതുപക്ഷവിപ്ലവകാരികളുടെ കേന്ദ്രസംഘടന രൂപവത്കരിച്ചു.
1919-ലെ സ്പാർട്ടസിസ്റ്റ് വിപ്ലവത്തെ ഒരു തെറ്റായി കണക്കാക്കിയെങ്കിലും[2] വിപ്ലവമാരംഭിച്ചതോടെ അതിനെ പിന്താങ്ങി. ഒന്നാം ലോകമഹായുദ്ധത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തിരുന്ന വലതുപക്ഷപട്ടാളക്കാരടങ്ങിയ, വെയ്മാർ ഭരണത്തെ അനുകൂലിച്ചിരുന്ന, ഫ്രൈകോർപ്സ് വിപ്ലവം അടിച്ചമർത്തിയപ്പോൾ ലക്സംബർഗ്, ലിബ്നെക്റ്റ് എന്നിവരും നൂറുകണക്കിന് അനുയായികളും പിടിക്കപ്പെടുകയും കൊല്ലപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു. മരണത്തോടെ സോഷ്യൽ ഡെമോക്രാറ്റുകൾക്കിടയിലും മാർക്സിസ്റ്റുകൾക്കിടയിലും ഇവർക്ക് രക്തസാക്ഷിപരിവേഷം കൈവന്നു.
