Senate composition by state and party The United States Senate consists of 100 members, two from each of the 50 states . This list includes all senators serving in the 118th United States Congress .
Party affiliation Senate composition by party Independent Sens. Angus King of Maine and Bernie Sanders of Vermont caucus with the Democratic Party;[1] [2] [3] independent Sens. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona and Joe Manchin of West Virginia do not caucus with the Democrats, but are "formally aligned with the Democrats for committee purposes."[4]
