റെയ്നർ വിസ്സ്


റെയിനർ വിസ്സ് ഒരു അമേരിക്കൻ ഫിസിസ്റ്റാണ്. 2017 -ൽ ഗുരുത്വ തരംഗങ്ങളുടെ കണ്ടെത്തലിന് റെയിനർ കിപ് തോൺ, ബേരി സി. ബാരിഷ് എന്നിവരോടൊപ്പം ഊർജ്ജതന്ത്രത്തിനുള്ള നോബേൽ പുരസ്കാരം സ്വന്തമാക്കി.  അദ്ദേഹം എമരിറ്റസിലെ MIT -യിൽ പ്രൊഫസറായിരുന്നു.  LIGO യുടെ അടിസ്ഥാന സംഭവമായ ലേസർ ഇൻറർഫെറോമെട്രിക് ടെക്നിക്ക് വികസിപ്പിച്ചെടുത്തതിൽ ശ്രദ്ധേയനായിരുന്നു. COBE സയൻസ് വർക്കിംഗ് ഗ്രൂപ്പിന്റെ ചെയർമാൻ കൂടിയാണ് റെയിനർ വിസ്സ്. [1][2][3]

ജീവിതവും പഠനവും

ജെർമനിയിലെ ബെർലിനിൽ 1932 സെപ്തമ്പർ 29-ന് ഗെറ്റ്രൂഡെ ലോസെനറിന്റേയും, ഫ്രെഡ്റിക്ക് വിസ്സിന്റേയും പുത്രനായി റെയിനർ വിസ്സ് ജനിച്ചു. [5]അമ്മ ഒരു നടിയായിരുന്നു[6], കൂടാതെ ക്രിസ്റ്റ്യൻ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിൽ നിന്ന് വന്നവരായിരുന്നു[7]. അച്ചൻ ഒരു ഫിസീഷ്യനും, ന്യൂറോളജിസ്റ്റും, സൈക്കോനലിസ്റ്റുമായിരുന്നു, പക്ഷെ കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് പാർട്ടിയിലെ സജീവപ്രവർത്തകനും, ഒരു ജൂതനുമായതുകൊണ്ട് ജെർമനിയിൽ നിന്ന് നാസികളാൽ പുറത്താക്കപ്പെട്ടു. ആദ്യം ആ കുടംബം പ്രാഗിലേക്ക് മാറുകയും, 1938 -ലെ മ്യൂനിക്ക് അഗ്രിമെന്റിന്റെ ഭാഗമായിട്ടുള്ള ജെർമനീസ് ഒക്കുപ്പേഷൻ ചെക്കോസ്ലോവോക്കിയ യുടെ ഭാഗമായി പ്രാഗിൽ നിന്നും മാറേണ്ടി വന്നു. ലോകോപകാരികളായിരുന്നു സ്റ്റിക്സ് കുടംബമായിരുന്നു അവർക്ക് അമേരിക്കയിലേക്ക് വിസ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തത്. വിസ്സിന്റെ യൗവനം അവിടെയായിരുന്നു, ന്യൂയോർക്കിലെ കൊളമ്പിയ ഗ്രാമർ സ്ക്കൂളിലാണ് അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ സ്ക്കൂൾ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയത്.  അദ്ദേഹം MIT പഠിക്കുകയും, ജൂനിയർ വർഷത്തിന് ശേഷം അവിടെ വിടുകയും, 1955 -ൽ തന്റെ SB എടുക്കുകയും, ജെറോൾഡ് സക്കറിയാസിൽ നിന്ന് 1962 -ൽ നിന്ന് തന്റെ പി.എച്ച്.ഡി നേടി. 1962-64 കാലഘട്ടത്ത് അദ്ദേഹം ടുഫ്ട്ട്സ് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിൽ പഠിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു, അതേ കാലഘട്ടത്ത് പ്രിൻസ്റ്റൺ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിലെ പോസ്റ്റ്ഡോക്ടറൽ സ്കോളറായിരുന്നു. 1964-ലാണ് MIT  ഫാക്കൽട്ടിയിൽ ചേർന്നത്.
