အေ (အက္ခရာ)

A သည် ရှေးဟောင်းဂရိဘာသာ အယ်လဖာ(A or α) နှင့်လည်းဆင်တူသည်။ အဘယ့်ကြောင့်ဆိုသော် ဂရိဘာသာကို အခြေခံရေးသားထားသောကြောင့်ဖြစ်သည်။^[၂] A ၏ သမိုင်းကို ရှာဖွေရာ၌ အလယ်ခေတ်( ဘီစီ ၁၆၀၀ ခန့်) အီဂျစ်တို့ ရေးဆွဲခဲ့သော အီဂျစ်အရုပ်စာသင်္ကေတမှ နွားခေါင်းပုံ သို့မဟုတ် ဖနီးရှဲန်းအက္ခရာ(Phoenician alphabet)မှ ဆင်းသက်လာသည်ဟုဆိုနိုင်သည်။^[၃]
